Ecobuild 2014: Government Soft Landings explained

Government Soft Landings explained by Deborah Rowland, Head of Facilities Management Policy & Strategy, Cabinet Office and Rob Manning, BIM Task Group at Ecobuild 2014.

Government Soft Landings (GSL) closes the performance gap that exists between planned and delivered outcomes in buildings and infrastructure. It focuses on the alignment between construction, operation and use. The GSL policy will be mandated across central government construction projects from 2016 with BIM Level 2 for all new builds and refurbishments.

This session will provide an overview and case studies to explore; what GSL is, and the differences from BSRIA Soft Landings; what you will need to do to meet its requirements; explanation of measures during construction and post completion; the commercial and contractual proposals and the key benefits and value of GSL.
