Consultation on Draft BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fit-out 2014 scheme
The draft BREEAM Refurbishment and Fit-out 2014 scheme provides for the first time, a dedicated version of BREEAM for the assessment of non-domestic building refurbishment and fit-out projects.
The scheme provides a flexible method that is structured into 4 modules, referred to as Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 covering the fabric of the building, the core and local services and the interior respectively. Projects can be assessed against the parts that are relevant given the scope of works, allowing a broader range of refurbishment and fit-out schemes to be assessed. This provides flexibility and accounts for the influence that different project types can have. It also provides clients with reassurance that there is a consistent approach from one project to the next, allowing comparability across the property market.
