Low Impact Material Case Studies: Straw Bale

Low Impact Material Case Studies: Straw Bale

A case study produced by the University of Bath and the BRE following low impact materials, why they were chosen, what issues were faced, the pros and cons and lessons learnt. This case study follows the use of straw bale construction in a new auction room in Essex.

This is one in a series of five case studies and parallel Information papers on low-impact building materials. The others cover hemp lime, straw bale, unfired clay masonry and natural fibre insulation.
