Green to Gold 2012/13 Report - Sustainable Investment Attitudes (Responsible Property Investment)

The findings in our fourth report indicate the extent to which fund managers view and factor in the risks attributable to rising sustainability regulation and market demands.

Government regulation, investor/occupier demand and running costs were identified as the key drivers for undertaking sustainability assessments. Energy efficiency and sustainability badges such as BREEAM are seen as the most important criteria within sustainability appraisals.

The forthcoming 2018 minimum energy performance standards have caused changes to many fund managers’ strategies. This is evidenced by the 85% of respondents who intend to undertake energy efficiency assessments of their portfolios within the next 12 months.
